Il Gardellino is a period-instrument ensemble devoted largely to the performance of Baroque music, both instrumental and vocal. Consisting of eight core members, Il Gardellino can range in size from three to as many as thirty players, depending on demands of the repertory. And then came, in the early 1990s, the Italian period-instrument ensembles, Il Giardino Armonico ( Vivaldi: Flute Concerti Op.10) or Fabio Biondi’s Europa Galante ( Vivaldi: Concerti con Titoli - La Tempesta di Mare). And they made a huge leap in the interpretation of Vivaldi: not only a matter of the urgency and dynamism of their tempi. Share your videos with friends, family, and the world.
